CBDM Celebrates 35 Years of its Certification Program

Published on

This year, the Certifying Board for Dietary Managers (CBDM) is thrilled to celebrate 35 years of its certification program!

In 1985, the Certifying Board for Dietary Managers began offering the first dietary manager credentialing exam. Individuals who passed the exam became Certified Dietary Managers (CDMs). A second credential (Certified Food Protection Professional) was added in 1996 in direct response to a growing need to protect health through proper foodservice sanitation practices. Today, the combined CDM, CFPP credential is widely respected and a recognized measure of competency assurance in the industry.

The Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Protection Professional (CDM, CFPP) credential recognizes people qualified by training and experience to competently perform the responsibilities of a dietary manager. Learn more about the credential and what it means to current CDM, CFPPs here.
