To maintain the Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Protection Professional (CDM, CFPP) credential, you must pay the annual certification renewal fee and earn and report 45 hours of eligible continuing education (CE) every three years, including nine CE hours in sanitation and safety and, effective June 1, 2019, one CE hour pertaining to professional ethics.
Authorized Use of the CDM, CFPP Credential
Individuals who met a pathway of eligibility, received a passing score on the CDM Credentialing Exam, and activated the credential within one year of passing the exam may use the CDM, CFPP credential and it may be used as long as the certification is active, valid, and in good standing. Certificants must comply with all recertification requirements to maintain use of the credential.
All CDMs are required to earn, report, and upload required documentation for 45 continuing education (CE) hours every three years via the My Certification page. Nine of the 45 hours must focus on sanitation and safety and, effective June 1, 2019, one CE hour must pertain to professional ethics. Program must be a minimum of 30 minutes long and pertain to the areas of Nutrition, Foodservice, Personnel andCommunications, Sanitation and Safety, and Business Operations.
