CE Audit Extension Information

 

June 30 is the deadline to request an extension.

Only individuals selected for the CE Audit may be eligible to request an extension.

If you do not meet all certification and CE audit requirements by the May 31 deadline and did not request an extension by June 30 of the year in which your CE record is being audited, you will fail the CE Audit and your CDM, CFPP certification will be terminated on July 1. Notice of failing the audit will be sent to the e-mail and mailing address on file in your ANFP record. To become a CDM, CFPP again, you will need to retest in accordance with CBDM policy.

Eligibility for an Extension During CE Audit

Individuals who are selected for the CE Audit may be eligible to request an extension to meet the CE requirements if they fall into the category below. Individuals granted an extension during the CE Audit, will have an additional six months after their current three-year recertification cycle ends on May 31, i.e., until November 30 of the year in which their CE record is being audited. Individuals are not approved for a CE Audit extension until they see the message on their "My Certification" page indicating the extension has ben granted.

  • You did not earn or report a total of 45 hours and/or the required 9.0 Sanitation and Safety CE hours and/or 1.0 Professional Ethics CE hour. Prior to the June 30 deadline, you must:

    • Log into your ANFP record with your username and password.

    • From the red navigation bar, locate My Information and from the dropdown, select My Certification.

      • You will be prompted with a pop-up asking you to select the option to accept an extension or terminate your certification. Follow the prompts and confirm your selection.

You are not approved for a CE Audit Extension until you see the message on your "My Certification" page indicating that the CE Audit extension has been granted.

What to Expect if You are Granted an Extension

  • You will not be able to view or access your CE record until September 1, the first date of the CE Audit extension period.

  • You can continue to complete additional CE programs until November 30.

    • If you complete an ANFP online CE program obtained from the ANFP Marketplace, the program will automatically be recorded in your CE record but you will be not be able to see it until you can access your CE record beginning September 1.

    • If you complete other CE programs, including Prior Approved programs not administered by ANFP, you will NOT be able to report it until September 1.

  • After you complete and submit the minimum required CE hours as well as all required documentation, select the green button that says SUBMIT CE FOR REVIEW to alert CBDM that your record is ready for review. Once you submit your CE record, you will no longer be able to access or review it.

  • In accordance with CBDM policy, CE hours earned and reported in excess of the required CE hours can NOT be carried over to the next recertification period.

  • CE records are reviewed in the order in which they are submitted and received. When your CE record is under review, you will no longer be able to access or review it.

  • Your CE record will NOT be reviewed until the extension officially begins on September 1, even if you complete all of the required CE hours prior to September 1. This also means that you will not receive any feedback from your auditor about the reported CE activities or audit status until after September 1.
  • You must select the green SUBMIT FOR CE REVIEW button in order for your CE record to be CBDM reviewed. Records not submitted will not be reviewed and will not be approved even if all submitted programs are ANFP programs.
  • You must meet all CE Audit and recertification requirements by 11:59 p.m. CT on November 30.

    • To allow time to remove deficiencies identified by your auditor, submit your CE programs and required documentation as soon as you complete the programs and select the green SUBMIT button when the minimum required CE have been reported to allow time to remove deficiencies identified by your auditor.

    • Failure to meet all requirements by the deadline means that you will fail the CE Audit and your CDM, CFPP certification will be terminated on December 1. You will receive written notice of failing the audit at the e-mail address on file in your ANFP record. You will no longer be allowed to use the CDM, CFPP credential or represent yourself as being CDM, CFPP certified until you re-earn the certification.

  • September 1, 2022 - first day of the CE Audit extension period
  • November 30, 2022 – deadline to meet all recertification and CE Audit requirements for those approved for the CE Audit extension
  • May 31, 2025 – end date for next three-year recertification period for those who pass the CE Audit
