Certifying Board for Dietary Managers (CBDM)
Quarterly Update - April 2026
Dear INSERT_FIRST_NAME,

The April edition of the CBDM Quarterly Newsletter is here, and we are focused on an important topic for many of our credential holders this year – the CE Audit. Whether this is your first recertification period or you’ve been through the process before, this issue offers helpful reminders and tips to help you feel prepared and informed.

Does Your Recertification Period
End May 31, 2026?

Attention all CDM, CFPPs! If your three-year recertification period ends on May 31, 2026, now is the time to review your CE status. You can check your recertification period end date and CE record at any time by logging into your ANFP record and selecting My Certification from the red navigation bar.

As your recertification deadline approaches, please look for important e-mails from CBDM. These e-mails will contain reminders about your CE hours and details on CE Audit selection.

Here's what to expect based on your CE Status:
  • If you have met all CE requirements by May 31, 2026, you may be randomly selected for a CE Audit. Notifications of CE Audit selection will be sent via e-mail on June 1, to the e-mail address on file in your ANFP record. Those selected must complete all necessary steps to pass the CE Audit. For those not selected, your next recertification period will begin promptly on June 1.

  • If your certification is active and you have reported more than 0.5 CE but less than 45.0 CE by May 31, 2026, you will automatically enter the CE Audit process and will be required to pass the CE Audit to remain actively certified. You will be notified by e-mail on June 1 and will be provided with the necessary steps to remain in audit. (See article below CE Audit Update – What you need to know)

Looking for your CDM, CFPP Certificate?

Need to download or print a copy of your certification certificate for your file? It is now available directly in your ANFP record, giving you secure, quick and convenient access whenever you need it.

To print your certificate, log in to your ANFP record, select My Certification from the red navigation bar and click Print Certificate located just below your contact information.

When you begin a new recertification period, complete your self-assessment early to unlock full access to your My Certification page.

Looking for a formal certificate to frame? Visit the ANFP Marketplace to order an official CDM, CFPP certificate on certificate stock. These formal printed certificates display the credential holder’s name, date that corresponds with the current active renewal year, and include the signature of the CBDM Chair.

Please note: the CBDM Verification System remains the official source for confirming certified status and always reflects certification as of the current date.

  • If you have not submitted any CE hours by the end of your recertification cycle, your certification will be terminated. To regain certification, you will need to qualify under a current pathway of eligibility, submit an exam application with fees, and retest.
Important Reminder:
Please verify that your contact information – especially your e-mail address – is up to date in your ANFP record. We strongly recommend using a personal
e-mail address to help prevent important messages from being filtered into spam folders.

If you have any questions about CE requirements or the audit process, our Member Services team is happy to help. Contact us at info@CBDMonline.org or 800.323.1908, select option 1 (daily call center hours may be found here).

Additionally, we encourage you to opt in for important text updates from CBDM regarding certification.

CE Audit Update: What You Need to Know

Below is a brief overview of what’s new and how it may impact you.

What's Changing?
Starting June 1, 2026, CBDM will implement a $25 non-refundable administrative fee for CE audit extension requests submitted at the end of a recertification period.

Who does this apply to?
This applies to active credential holders who, by May 31 at the end of their three-year recertification period, reported at least 0.5 CE hours but fewer than the required 45 CE hours and would like an extension to complete the requirements.

How do I find my recertification period end date?
Log in to your ANFP record and select My Certification from the red navigation bar. Your period end date will be listed to the right of your contact information.

What happens if I don’t complete my CE hours by May 31?
You will be placed into CE Audit and may request an extension to complete your CE hours through August 3 in your ANFP record on the My Certification page. The extension must be requested and paid for by June 30.

How do I request an extension?
If you are eligible, CBDM will email you notification and instructions on June 1 or the first business day thereafter to the e-mail address on file. The $25 administrative fee is required when you submit your extension request.

When will I be notified if I’m placed into CE Audit?
Audit notifications are sent by e-mail on June 1, or the first business day thereafter, using the email address on file in your account.

What happens if I miss the June 30 deadline?
If the extension request and fee are not submitted by June 30, your credential will be automatically terminated on July 1, or the first business day that follows.
