Did you know that National CDM, CFPP Day of the Year has been recognized in the Congressional Record for three consecutive years? In 2023, 2024 and 2025, Representative Jen Kiggans (R-VA-2) submitted a statement to the Congressional Record recognizing National CDM, CFPP Day of the Year and acknowledging the important contributions CDM, CFPPs make to nutrition and foodservice management.

The Congressional Record is the official record of proceedings and statements made before the Congress. When a member of Congress places a statement in the Congressional Record, it serves as a formal public recognition of an individual, profession, organization, or event. While it is not a law or congressional resolution, it is a meaningful acknowledgment that becomes part of the permanent legislative history of our nation.

We encourage you to take a few minutes to read the statement and celebrate this recognition of the profession. View the 2025 Congressional Record statement here: National CDM, CFPP Day of the Year Congressional Record Statement.

It's one more reminder that the expertise, leadership, and dedication of CDM, CFPPs are making an impact and receiving recognition far beyond the workplace.

Celebrate National CDM, CFPP Day of the Year on
November 28

National CDM, CFPP Day of the Year

Get ready to celebrate! National CDM, CFPP Day of the Year returns on November 28, and this year marks a special milestone, the 10th anniversary of the CMS regulation that recognized the CDM, CFPP credential as the primary qualification for the Director of Food & Nutrition Services in long-term care settings in the absence of a full-time registered dietitian. ANFP established National CDM, CFPP Day in 2023 to commemorate this important achievement and celebrate the professionals who continue to advance the field every day.

National CDM, CFPP Day is an opportunity to recognize the dedicated CDM, CFPPs who make a difference through their leadership, commitment to food safety, regulatory compliance, and excellence in nutrition and foodservice management.

Be sure to keep an eye on your email and ANFP communications for special activities, resources, and recognition opportunities planned throughout the week leading up to November 28. ANFP has also created a social media toolkit, printable flyer, and celebration ideas to help you join in the fun and share your pride in the profession.

Visit the ANFP National CDM, CFPP Day of the Year page for resources and inspiration, and join us in celebrating the impact, dedication, and achievements of CDM, CFPPs who make a difference in the lives of those they serve every day.

Happy National CDM, CFPP Day of the Year!

Credentialing Exam

Have you ever wondered how questions on the CDM, CFPP Credentialing Exam are developed? Here's your chance to find out while making a meaningful contribution to the future of the credential.

CBDM is seeking volunteers to serve on the 2027 Item Writers Committee. Committee members receive training on psychometric standards and exam development best practices before helping create and review exam questions based on the current exam content outline. Your expertise helps ensure the exam remains relevant, valid, and reflective of today's foodservice profession.

The committee will meet virtually via Zoom once in May for a two-hour training session and twice in June 2027, with each session lasting approximately four hours. Participants may earn up to 8 CE hours for their service.

We're looking for CDM, CFPPs from a variety of non-commercial foodservice settings, including long-term care, acute care, schools, corrections, and the military. Whether you're early in your career or have years of experience, your perspective is valuable.
